November Meeting Minutes

  • Deborah Hill reviewed the Booster Club Finances and discussed the fact that we are breaking even on Concessions and need to find ways to profit from this. Stated that she will review different items to find ways to increase margin gains.
  • Matt Morrow and Coach Bailey reviewed the fall season – competed hard in every contest in every sport. Had two players named all-conference on the soccer team, and the football team continued to play hard despite a tough situation.
  • Final football game of the season is this upcoming Friday at Ardrey Kell, the last JV game was cancelled.
  • Discussed some preliminary talks about the Fall Banquet and Awards Ceremony. Deborah Hill to reach out to some previous contacts about getting food at a reduced cost or donated with the approved tax status in place.
  • Reviewed some different options on where to hold the ceremony, Matt Morrow to reach out to Londa’s Place on West Boulevard as the facility can hold over 200 people. Other options include on campus or at the Movement Facility where Coach Bailey held banquets last year.
  • Discussed concessions for Basketball Season. Won’t need as many people because the area in the gym does not allow for it, however with more games (12 home games) and a long time to cover, we will still need the manpower. Especially from adult volunteers.
  • Games start at 4:30 with JV Boys, and there will be 3 games in total. Does not appear that there will be a JV Girls team this year.
  • Opportunities are there to help promote any of our winter sports. We have Basketball, Indoor Track, Swimming, and Wrestling available. Schedules for all sports will be posted on the website very soon. You can take pictures, video, do interviews, whatever you like!
  • Online sales of T-Shirts are now available and are on the homepage of huhsboosterclub.org ! These are a great source of funding for the club’s activities. Championship T-Shirts and Cancer Awareness shirts are available and can also still be purchased at basketball games this winter.
  • Discussed going in a group to the December 11th School Board Meeting to voice our continued concerns with Harding facilities. Will follow up directly with those interested in doing this. Please advise us at huhsboosterclub@gmail.com if you would like to join.
  • Submitted the Athletic Hall of Fame Draft Proposal to Coach Bailey for adminstration to review for approval. Upon approval, there will be large scale promotion of the application process in order to get all deserving Rams past and present proper recognition in the first Hall of Fame class.
  • Winter Sports Parent Meeting is Tuesday November 13th at 6:00 pm in the Harding Auditorium. Booster Club will be present to discuss joining the club and answer any questions that may come up.
